Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a hands-on approach to health that focuses on the relationship between the body’s structure (e.g. bones, muscles, joints), function (mobility), and how the body adapts to force/load distribution over time. The key idea is that the body can self-heal and self-regulate more efficiently when force/load are distributed evenly through the soft tissues (muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia) being balanced and mobile.

Daily habits associated with occupation, recreation, training, and repetitive movement can create patterns of restriction, changing how force moves within the body and how the body loads and compensates. Instead of just treating where the pain or symptoms are, osteopathy looks at the body as a dynamic connected system, treating the pattern of tension or imbalance that might be causing problems.

Gentle techniques are used to ease tight muscles, joints, and connective tissues, helping the body balance its forces so it can heal naturally. When the body’s structure and function improve, symptoms often improve.

If you have been struggling with back pain, neck pain, mobility concerns, headaches, joint or muscle pain, postural strain, sports injuries, TMJ issues, sinus problems, general chronic issues, and many other health concerns you can see an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner.
